Since 1998, The Traverse Area Recreation and Transportation Trails nonprofit has built and maintained over 60 miles of trails and bikeways in the Traverse region. Traverse City was named one of the top small town travel destinations in the US in 2009, and it is a great place to visit that’s away from the city. With plenty of freshwater beaches, vineyards, and forest areas, Traverse City is also a fun place to pick up new wheels to explore the city on. You can find Detroit Bikes at any of Mclain Cycle’s three locations in the Traverse area. They offer a variety of bikes, gear, and repair services, and their 8th street location is right on the TART trail to start riding! If you’re looking to upgrade your bike, they have a trade-in program so you can switch your old bike for a Detroit Bike.

You will find Suttons Bay Bikes about 17 miles north of Traverse City, where you can join in on one of their wonderful winery bike tours. They offer bikes for purchase or rent, and they also run a full-service repair shop.

Einstein Cycles is right next to the TART trail and offers road bikes, mountain bikes, and hybrid bikes. They offer full bike services and repairs and rentals.
